Hong Kong

Hong Kong- one of the wonders of the tourist map is an ideal choice for tourists and visitors who want to marvel at the great architecture and technological advancements of modern times and also enjoy the peace and tranquil life of the village life. The beautiful business district offers this great contrast with its offerings which range from great constructions to vibrant coastal life to the serene atmosphere of a peaceful outskirt of the city life.

How to reach
Being an important business district, Hong Kong is well connected with all major international destinations. Visitors from most countries can enter Hong Kong without a visa for periods of seven days to six months, depending on nationality. It is a good idea to confirm the details with Chinese embassy or consulate. Having reached here, the public transportation via bus, ferry or train is wonderfully efficient, relatively inexpensive and user-friendly. The system covers extension areas of Hong Kong with signs in English and Chinese.

When to Go
Hong Kong is an all-year-round destination. It enjoys a mild climate from the middle of September to the end of February and is the busiest tourist season attracting visitors from all parts of the world, while the weather from May to mid-September is rather warm and humid. August is the downpour time in Hong Kong, registering the highest rainfall of the season.

Accommodation
Hong Kong has a wide variety of accommodation to suit every budget, from luxury six-star equivalent hotels to modest guesthouses and youth hostels. Most hotels and guesthouses are situated on Hong Kong Island and in Kowloon. The more expensive of the lot offers panoramic views over Victoria Harbour. Irrespective of your stay, all of the Hong Kong's attractions are close at hand. The excellent public transport system means that you can just enjoy a short journey away from the hustle and bustle of the city or the tranquility of the outlying islands.

What to see
Renowned as one of the world's most sophisticated cities, Hong Kong is also a place where history and modernity coexist in great dynamism. Hong Kong Island boasts award-winning architecture at the foot of Victoria Peak and a scenic coastline. Victoria Harbour is the perfect vantage point to view the coastal skyline. Kowloon Peninsula possesses some of the most interesting cityscapes in Asia. In the New Territories, rural areas and country parks are spread across massive mountain ranges, lush valleys and grassy hills. Hong Kong's museums showcase fascinating displays of Chinese art and antiquities as well as Hong Kong's history, film industry, space, science, medicine, the police, correctional services and much more. Rising an incredible 420 metres into the sky, the imposing Two International Finance Centre is a great learning experience. Located on the Wan Chai waterfront is one of Hong Kong's most impressive and stunning pieces of architecture- The Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre- major tourist attraction.

Entertainment and Shopping
Concerts by famous international artists and local Canto-pop singers create dynamic experiences. Hong Kong is a major film centre and theatre productions include dramas, Broadway musicals, contemporary and Chinese dance, as well as ballet. The sports environment in Hong Kong is also dynamic and features thrilling sports, including horseracing, rugby, golf and soccer. Major shopping centres offer great bargain for traditional items, hats, artifacts and Chinese wear and clothing.
