Seoul, the capital of South Korea is a major tourist attraction of Asia. The city is blessed with long history and traditions and also has elements of modernity to go with it. How to reach
Incheon International Airport which is 60 kms away from the mainland in Seoul is very well connected with major international destinations and is serviced by all the international airlines. International visitors require proper documentation such as passport and visas before entering the city. Public transport is efficient, convenient and affordable. Private taxis are convenient but expensive.

Where to stay
Seoul has mostly upper middle and deluxe hotels. However a large number of locals also offer inexpensive and reasonably priced rooms to visitors. So it is a good idea for those who want a budget holiday to book a hotel for a day or two and then go for hunting of these options. A limited number of low priced hostels and hotels are also available and can be explored.

What to Do
There is no better place to see than the South Gate, which is an architectural feat. The place, an entrance to the ancient city is a great testimony to the heritage and cultural tradition of Korea. Elysees, is a symbol of Korea's proud history and a must see. Toksu Palace is set in a park and is a wonderful place for unwinding and relaxing. The Kyongbok Palace houses the folklore museum and has airy and wonderful pavilions. The palace dates back to the 14th century and is one of the most beautiful sight. Other major tourist attractions include the Tonggunung tombs, Chonsugongbang , Changkyong Palace, Pomun-sa Temple and the Toksugung Palace. The city is also home to a number of serene and wonderfully maintained gardens and parks. The Secret Garden in the Changdok Palace complex is a must visit for all tourists. Among modern sights, the place boasts of one of the most artistically built buildings and towers, art galleries, shopping centers, and museums. Olympic stadium, an attraction vouching for great strides Korea has made in international arena is also a must see.

Shopping
Lotte World, a shopping mall that contains an Olympic-sized skating ring and an amusement park is a great option to at least visit once if not to buy because of the steep prices. Besides a number of street markets and places all beckon visitors with low priced and bargain prices. You can buy items such as electronics, shoes and handicrafts items, clothes, traditional medicines including ginseng, mobile phones, gift items, VCDs and DVDs.

Nightlife
Seoul has an electrifying night life. Big hotels have their own bars and discotheques. Besides a number of bars and tea houses are also there to be explored to experience the city life.
